Chiang Mai Expenses (Part 2)

CHIANG MAI ITINERARY (5D4N)

Some Sharing of our trip for 5 Days 4 Night.

Day 1 (Friday)

•   Thai Silk Industry
•   Gem stone store & making process
•   Umbrellas handicraft
•   Cotton Chic
•   Honey Store (they give lots of tester)

Total spend: 800 bath (per group)

Day 2 (Saturday)

• King & Queen Stupa (Pagoda)

• Watchirathan Waterfall
• Mae Klang Waterfall

Spend on ticket entrance$$ :
1. Doi Inthanon Tour (3500 bath per group)
  >Entrance Fee (300 bath per person- Foreigner)
  >30 bath (for car/local guide)
  >Keep the ticket so it can be reuse at Mae Klang Waterfall.
2. King & Queen Pagoda (40 bath/person)

Total Expenses for day activities: 1222.5 bath/person

** This is private tour that consist of only 4 people. The join-in tour would cost lesser around 1,150-1,200 bath/person.

** Song Thaew 20 bath per person any place around the city. 

** Tuk² cost about 80-100 bath standard around the city area.

** Food: 69 bath (small size of 4 chicken korean style) We were lucky to get invited for free porridges at Chinese-Muslim mosque in Hilal Town.

** There’s Saturday Market but we didn’t go there so we just do some shopping in Night Bazaar area & Kalare night market.

Day 3 (Sunday)

- Mae Taeng Elephant Camp

- Long Neck Village

- Airport (My Ummi going back 2 days early)

- Night Bazaar

Activity Expenses:

1. Transport: 1,200 bath (half day)

2. Elephant camp:

•   Elephant + Ox Riding (40min)   1000 bath
•   Elephant Show (45min)   300 bath
•   1 day Package (3 hour++)   1,500 bath

** Depends on the chosen activity. We couldn’t choose the package because we have limited time since we need to send my ummi to airport later on. But it is recommended to go by package & I saw some comments that booking with travel agency for this activity is slightly cheaper.

** The package inc halal buffet lunch

3. Night Bazaar

  >> Song Theaw  20 bath/person

** Most of the place, we just walk so the transport expenses is lesser.

4. Check in at new hotel in Changmoi area 

  >> Cumpun Guesthouse (1080 bath 2Night)

** I recommend you to search near Night bazaar/Tha Pae gate. This one is still a bit far from Tha Pae & Night Bazaar. Penat berjalan weh.

** If your activity will take the whole day, much cheaper hotel/hostel is more preferable. Most of the place we stay have private toilet because it will be easier to do prayers & bathing.

Day 4 (Monday)

- Chiang Rai Province:

• Hot Spring
• White Temple
• Mae Sai Border
• Lunch (non-halal. Althought they provide vegie food but its still suspicious (syubhah so kita elakkan because of the tools they use & oil for cooking is afraid to be reuse)
• Long Neck Village

- Kalare Market

Activity Expenses $$:

1. Chiang Rai Package  1000 bath

** exclude mekong boat ride to visit triangle (300 bath)

** exclude long neck village (300 bath) cause we already seen it.

2. Thai Massage  150bath

** Oil Massage (180 bath) but different place has different price. We choose the one beside the hilal town.

3. Pizza at Fatimah Restaurant  300 bath

**Recommended

4. Song Theaw to go back to guesthouse  20 Bath

Day 5 (Tuesday)

Total expenses:

** We use the same driver of our trip. It is less expensive taxi despite others. I tried bargain the night before but less they could give is 220bath after a discount from 300 bath (I did my research that the price won't be until 300 bath so for me the it doesn't feels like getting a discount)

** Song theaw price about 60-78bath per person. At first I want to use this red truck but not sure if they already operating at 6.30am (well, some did operate early as I watch the road)

Untuk shopping part, pandai² la yer. Mine cost only 750bath, some 1000 bath & ada yg lebih banyak dari tu. Base on your own budget. So kiranya for own total expenses kali ni bila convert to MYR is RM580. Tu dah all in package. From flight, transport, food, hotels and shopping. Actually its much more cheaper if you plan it on your own instead of using travel agent. Tapi ni khas untuk yang berani mencuba. If you are not dare enough & can’t stand the stress of planning, better go by travel agent. It will be a breezy holiday for you. Easy going.

Sekian itinerary kali ini. I was hoping to go again but with new activity. 5 Days is not enough lol. There’s still white water rafting, atv, jungle trekking (but better choose when the weather is nice).
